When Sara Ellis, owner of Ultimate Fitness and one time bike racer, arrived at the meeting place on Sunday, she expected to see the usual suspects. Instead she found a gathering of cycling legends, among them, Greg Lemond, the first American and first non-European to win the Tour de France (in 1986, 1989, and 1990), and one of only nice cyclists to have won the Tour three or more times. Also participating were Tom Ritchey, Joe Breeze, and a few other known names from the 70’s.
The group of about 50 riders took off from Fairfax and rode through Marshall and back, discussing and sharing stories about the good old days. It was a good day for Sara!
